Are you a teenager that has a passion for storytelling? What about photography or taking awesome videos? How about acting, or maybe you just always wanted to be in the film industry. Well, you now have a direct opportunity to both learn the ins and outs of film production, and everyone you know can see your hard work pay off on the Big Screen!
This summer, our campers will learn directly from experienced professionals in the film industry how to produce a film, from conception to distribution. With the guidance of an accredited Producer from the Producers Guild of America in Los Angeles, California, not only will they learn all about the industry, but they will also be hands on with producing their own film project that will have a Red Carpet Premiere at Spotlight Cinemas Capital 8 upon the conclusion of this summer season. In week one, campers will learn about the fundamentals of preproduction and production. In week two, campers will utilize what they've learned by filming and producing their own short film.
After both summer sessions have completed, Carolina Film Network will host a Red Carpet Premiere at Spotlight Cinemas Capital 8 in Columbia, SC, where our campers will have photos taken on the Red Carpet, be interviewed, showcase their finished projects on the Big Screen to their families and friends, and have a talkback about their experience. In addition to their night of feeling like the stars they are, their finished films will also screen during the student block at Freedom Festival International Film Festival in late August this season, and they will receive a certificate of completion they can use for their professional portfolio moving forward in the industry.
Total tuition this season is $500. There is also camper sponsorship information attached to the registration forms, where any person/organization can help cover a camper's tuition.
Along with the registration forms, total tuition is due no later than June 12, 2022 at 5:00pm.
Completed forms can be emailed to cfnnpo@gmail.com with an electronic payment via the button on the bottom of this page. If submitting physical forms and tuition, please send completed forms with a cashier's check or money order for tuition to the attention of Carolina Film Network at:

There will be two identical camps this year, so that we can comfortably accommodate as many students possible with the limited space available. There will be a maximum of 20 students per camp. Camp 1 will take place June 20 - July 1 (Monday-Friday), and Camp 2 will take place July 11 - July 22 (Monday-Friday). The Red Carpet Premiere will take place on August 6, 2022 at Spotlight Cinemas Capital 8 in Columbia, SC.
Campers can be dropped off at 1117 B Avenue, West Columbia, SC 29169 every morning during camp as early as 8:30am and picked back up at 3:00pm. Camp's daily sessions run from 9:00am through 3:00pm, and all campers must be picked up no later than 3:30pm. A $25 daily fee will be required if a camper needs to stay after 3:30 (up to 1 hour).
Campers are required to bring their own lunch; however, snacks and water will be provided onsite. There will also be a refrigerator and microwave onsite as well. No camper is permitted to take another camper offsite or home without prior written consent. Bullying and/or disruptive behavior will not be tolerated. If so, the camper will be expelled from the program without reimbursement of tuition, partially or fully. Although all equipment required for production will be provided, it is encouraged for each camper to bring something to take notes with (notebook and writing utensil and/or laptop). It is the sole responsibility of the camper to maintain the safety of any materials and/or device they bring to camp. Phones are permitted at camp; however, they must be kept on silent during instruction.
Check out this great video produced by students in the Journalism class at Fairfield Central High School this past Spring, where they had a similar experience our Summer Camp students will have!
